“Our challenge was to learn the CDL ‘way of doing things,’ acquire 15 feeds suitable for moving to CDL and track the financial benefits of making such a move.
Working originally with Nik was easy and he clearly knew the process(es) involved in converting each of the possible MLSs from our feed to the CDL feed. It was all very logical and Nik clearly explained when a particular process would require my involvement. During that phase of the process it seemed that much of it happened in a black box, making it difficult to monitor the process. More light was shed on the progress when we were asked (or volunteered) to make calls to MLS EOs and MLS Directors.
Also, at that time, it was difficult to determine which MLSs would be viable candidates for CDL as the actual costs were not available to us until well into the process with some MLSs. This resulted in quite a financial inefficiency as we continue to pay for CDL slots while sometimes waiting over a month only to find out that the terms for a given MLS were not acceptable. Then, we had to find a replacement MLS, while continuing to pay for the monthly slot while receiving no benefit.

I was really pleased that CDL started providing us with better information about the anticipated cost/terms of a larger number of potential MLS targets. This information (updated regularly) significantly eased the process of identifying which MLSs are viable targets to move to CDL.
I found that CDL weekly meetings to be very helpful in maintaining key information between us and CDL. Nora and Mohtashim have been really helpful by providing monitoring tools to track the progress of each MLS transition.
Generally speaking, over time, it has been my experience that the implementation and processing of MLSs has become far more transparent and CDL staff has become much more responsive to our requests..
